LICENCED FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND EMBALMER

Contessa E. King is a licensed funeral director and embalmer based in Washington State. Her unique educational background is in environmental science, art, and mortuary science. Contessa has extensive training and experience in postmortem reconstructive work and takes an innovative approach to restorative art.

Contessa is dedicated to providing compassionate and professional services for the deceased and the families she serves. Her approach combines artistry and technical skill to ensure the dignified presentation of the deceased.

Her contributions in the field outside of the funeral home include sculpting, photography, and prosthetic design; she is the sole contributing artist to the textbook Postmortem Restorative Art (Astorino, 2024) and recently presented on the international stage in Belgium.
